40 Days: My Journey with God Season 2

October 8, 2021 by Meljoie Pepito Leave a Comment

“Sometimes it is a journey that teaches you about your destination.”

Drake

Last year’s 40 Days: My Journey with God has brought me a lot of blessings. Amidst the height of the pandemic, it gives me hope that whatever happens, traveling with God matters most.

Almost a year had passed and Hope Channel South Philippines together with the Administrators of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Mindanao has produced 40 Days: My Journey with God Season 2. It is still broadcast on Hope Channel South Philipines Channel 37 on GSAT Cable TV, Facebook page, and Youtube Channel with almost the same lineup of speakers and with the addition of Pr. Ted Wilson – the World Adventist President.

Just like season 1 – this journey comes with a module that will guide us through the series. It has some questions that will help us grasp the essence of the journey.

My family would like to invite you to join us on this journey even at the comfort of your home using your cellphones, laptops, tv sets, or even by listening to the live broadcast of 93.5 DXIM FM here at Butuan City and any Hope Radio Stations Mindanao Wide. The premiere will be on October 10-11, 2021 and the journey will start from October 12 to November 20, 2021.

I would love you to join us.

Four for the Lord

October 3, 2021 by Meljoie Pepito Leave a Comment

Nasipit-Carmen District Update: Four were baptized at Ata-atahon Adventist Church during the culmination of the Online Public Evangelism of the Secretarial Department of Northeastern Mindanao Mission with the theme “Is Jesus in me?” This is the result of the Care Group Activities of the Adventists in Ata-atahon Adventist Church where mass gathering for public evangelism is limited. Bro. Capapas – one of the four who were baptized was first introduced to the truth during the Care Group Evangelism Campaign lead by Bro. Tertoliano Hallasgo and the members of the church. But he didn’t accept the message at that time, yet he continued to study the word of God. In his search for truth he found the radio station of Hope Radio Philippines – Butuan and became a regular listener of the station and the program “Bible Study on the Air” with Bro. Dante Villas as the host and lecturer of the program. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Bro. Capapas decided to be baptized.

The church has increase in membership and the challenges is great which is to build their church. They are now currently worshipping at a makeshift building made of bamboos. I am appealing to your heart, let us help build Ata-atahon Adventist Church.

BNC Adventist District Splits into Two

September 27, 2021 by Meljoie Pepito Leave a Comment

Recently, the Administrative Committee of Northeastern Mindanao Mission with the leadership of Pr. Max Dante B. Obbus has made an action and divides BNC Adventist District into two – Buenavista District and Nasipit-Carmen District. It was then later approved by the Executive Committee to finalize the decision.

The reason for this division is to create room for fast expansion of both districts as it has been observed that the leadership of the churches in these districts are very much capable to lead.

The Buenavista District was assigned to Pr. Louie C. Andrade covers the whole municipality of Buenavista that includes – the churches of Alubijid Adventist Church, Buenavista Adventist Church, Calcalon Adventist Church, Guinabsan Adventist Church, Jamboree Adventist Church, and Simbalan Adventist Church for a total of six churches.

The other half remains under the leadership of Pr. Meljoie R. Pepito which covers the municipalities of Nasipit and Carmen that includes the churches of Ata-atahon Adventist Church, Aclan Adventist Church, Cabagtukan Adventist Church, Carmen Adventist Church, Cahayagan Adventist Church, Hinandayan Adventist Church, Minbahandi Adventist Church, Nasipit Adventist Church, San Agustin Adventist Church, and Sta. Ana Adventist Church for a total of ten churches.

This is evidence of God’s providence and blessings – an opportunity for new leaders to lead and empower churches to grow spiritually. These districts are expected to grow both in numbers and in spirit.

The wives are called in front to share their experiences, which triggers tears and laughter – reminiscing the trials, challenges, and blessings that they experienced in the ministry. “We heard your experiences and testimonies, and we thank you for supporting the ministers and for being a good example to the women,” said, Mrs. Eva Malaki one of the elders of Buenavista Adventist Church. The wives of the ministers received flowers and gifts from the Women’s Ministries Association of BNC District.

Pr. Rudy Jimenez preached the word of God. He explained the importance of being a part of the family of God. Six people accepted Jesus that day and become part of the family of God.
